Ada's Story: Finding Strength in Sickle Cell
Finding Strength in the Journey
Ada was diagnosed with sickle cell disease at birth. Growing up, she faced countless hospital visits, painful crises, and moments of despair. But she refused to let SCD define her.
"I remember telling myself that I wouldn't be a victim. I would be a warrior," she recalls.
Today, Ada is a university graduate and a passionate advocate for sickle cell awareness. She speaks at schools, community events, and healthcare conferences, sharing her story and educating others about SCD.
"SCD is part of me, but it doesn't have to be my entire story," she says. "We are more than our diagnosis. We are dreams, we are hope, we are warriors."
